Hi,

I just got ahold of a Ruger Super Blackhawk "Old Model" 3 Screw .44 Mag. I looked on Rugers website and found the Serial Number and it was manufactured in 1969. The gun has a beautiful high polish (blued) finish. I would say its a 97%/98% revolver. It came from an estate sale that an older gentleman had (one owner) The gun has been shot, but not much at all. I had to have this one before someone else snatched it up. It came with the original box and papers also. The box really looks great even after over 40 years.....The price i paid was $700.00 the area is Southwest Ohio.
what do you guys think about the price? I couldnt help it, i had to bring this one home.....Thanks

I'd say it was too much just because as a '69 and as such isn't really that much of a "collectable" as yet. So if you were to sell it you'd never get back more than maybe 2/3 of what it cost you.

But if you really like the old 3 screw actions and like .44Mag Blackhawks then WTH, why not. Life is too short to worry about money when it's there to buy you some dream fulfillment.

Hell, I just bought a used Super Redhawk in .44mag for an outlandish price because it had been very nicely cut down to as short a size as I can legally own up this way and given a scrumptously nice trigger job. I intend to enjoy it for a few years and then sell it for about half to two thirds what I paid for it and still smile.
