i am building a project gp100. The frame is from 2009, and I bought a like-new cylinder and crane/Ejector rod assembly for it off eBay. The cylinder is very close but simply will not fit. Was the crane or cylinder diameter or something else slightly changed since 09’ ? The smooth ejector rod also looks to be perhaps a 1/4” shorter. It will slip in fine and flush, but is just a tad off and hits 1/3 way closed on the bottom . I had a similar thing happen years ago on a pre- model 10 and taking the rod apart and reassembling it seemed to fix it somehow. This cylinder looks
Like new however. Ideas?
EDIT: found a tiny burr deep inside the cylinder crane hole and bit of old paint or something that, once reamed and brass brushed, let loose; and now we r lined up alright. It certainly has some close tolerances, sure did not take much to goober it; close is good though. After polish. action work and assembly, I’ll post a pic. Just gonna b a decent Range gun for longer iron sight bullseye fun work; tho maybe a port job later for stringing some plates.
