Ruger GP100 for $42.00

I was at my favorite Gun Store today and in the consignment case there was this GP100 for $42.00 So I had to look and see what was wrong with it I didn't see any problems at all with it, DA was OK, so was SA. Nothing lodged in the barrel, not bent anywhere. So I bought it and took it home. Truth is I had a consignment check waiting and it only cost me $42.00 difference with tax. Now I can put the M66-2 (next to the Python) in the safe and not worry about getting it all dirty fireing it. And since the M66 was made in '87 I can keep it for the kids as well as the '81 Python, and the GP100 I can shoot all I want and not worry about breaking it. So did I do OK for a $42.00 gun? By the way the cost of the GP100 was $275 OTD.

Not bad. I picked one up from an estate that had some very professional action work done on it (I wish I knew who did it, he was that good). As much as I like N frame Smiths, this is a better gun to shoot. So the 99% M28, as nice as it is, gets to be the safe queen.

The GP is a little hefty, but it fits me, shoots phenomenally well, and I doubt I will wear it out. It's the only .357 I've ever owned that made 125 gr. full loads fun to shoot. That's quite an accomplishment.

It carries well as a field gun in Bianchi's UM84R holster. Expensive, but you don't even notice the gun is there.

Why worry about a M66 made in 1987? It's not like that year has any significance to that revolver.
