Ruger GP100 "Hunter" ??

Can a Ruger GP100 6" be cut like other "hunter" models (SBH,SRH,etc) to accept the Ruger style rings? Or is the rib narrower and therefore creates issues?

Might be better to buy a Weigand scope mount and new rings than paying to have your GP100 cut to accept Ruger rings.

The SRH doesn’t include a Hunter model. The Blackhawk and Redhawk have integral ring scallops in the barrel rib, the SRH has the scallops in the cylinder frame.

D&T a rail on the cyl frame or use a Weigand no drill. You just won’t gain enough by begging a smith to replicate scallops, even on the long barrel GP.
