Called the dealer today, the rifle I ordered a week ago was in. Good thing I went to Amazon yesterday and purchased a Vortex 4-12 Scope and an XS Full Length Rail and some quick release mounts. It was 16 extra to have it shipped overnight so I paid the money. Picked up the rifle at lunch time and told my co-workers I wouldn't be back. Went home and the puppy had taken a dump in his crate. Poor fellow. Cleaned him up and to the man cave I went.
Mounted the rail first. You have to remove the rear sight. The rail has a sight on it as well. Then mounted the scope. I did not use locktite on the scope since it might need adjustment later, it did. Ran a patch though the bore and it was clean.
Next off to the range. Grabbed some Indian Surplus 308. Indian Surplus you say! Yes, I got it cheap and didn't trust it so I pulled the bullets and dumped the powder. I loaded it with Surplus 846 and the original bullets. Good stuff for breaking in a rifle. Not something you would stake you life on.
Brought cleaning supplies and the normal stuff to the range. A half hour drive. When I got there someone had left a target at the 50 yard line. So I used it. Bore signed and first shot was on the paper. Adjusted to the right, adjusted again to the right, bulls eye. Next shot close to bulls eye. Ammo sucks but the rifle is shooting. Then for grins I shot at the 200 gong and dinged it.
I cleaned the bore every five shots. The rifle comes with a 10 rounder, but I used my spare 5 rounder.
The rifle shot well. Recoil with the factory break was pretty low. Just a little more than 223 or about as much as 7.62x39 out of the CZ. The rifles weighs about 6.5 pounds. Add a scope and a rail and its a little more. I need to adjust the scope a little closer to the shooter. I wouldn't consider it sighted in, just on the paper. I was also able to hit a target a 100 yards with no problem. The group size was about six inches. Overall I shot sixty five rounds through the rifle. Shoulder doesn't hurt at all. Somebody shot a bunch of American Eagle 223 and left the brass around so I came home with a bunch.
The bolt is smooth. The trigger feels heavy. The mags goes in and out without any issues. Its a keeper.
