Im not sure exactly whats going on here, but for some reason when trying to reassemble the gun the barrel is getting stuck on what seems to be the internal trigger frame? i think thats what its called.. and wont allow the slide to be fully re-installed.. it gets stuck halfway back and wont go any farther.

Any recommendations? Im not sure if ruger will honor the warranty since im not the original owner.

Are you pushing back on the barrel before trying to insert the pin? Make sure to pull the barrel out before inserting the pin.

I've never had that happen on mine:confused:

The LCP forum might be better for this question.

How I disassemble mine is:
Drop the mag
Rack the slide to eject the chambered round
Lock the slide back to make sure there is round in the chamber and check for any foreign obstructions.
Pull back on the slide to unlock and allow it to go forward enough to take tension off the pin
Pull the pin and let the slide come off the frame.

To reassemble:
I slip the slide back on the still cocked frame until it's about 3/4 of the way back and push the pin in.

Do you think that maybe your guide rod is not all the way flush into its grove? I'm thinking that if it's not seated all the way, it would hit the frame right about at the halfway point like you describe.

Good luck.

If there is a defect with the gun, chances are Ruger will fix it. I have never heard of Ruger not fixing something because you are not the original owner.
