I want the entire M&P line! I would love a 340 or 360. I have handled but not shot the LCR, and it just felt unbalanced to me. Seemed like a quality piece though.

Be patient Landric, I hear lock free 640's are currently in production, and there is a rumor of lock freeM&P 340's as well.

I will bet on Safety Wesson's greed, and predict that we should see quite a few more lock free revolvers in the near future.

Oh, for new - Ruger. Used - Pre lock S&W's.

I've been hearing rumors of various concealed hammer J-frames appearing without the lock to follow the 442/642. I am hoping for a lockless M&P 340, and I can wait, cause I am not going to have the money anytime soon anyway. S&W can rest assured though, if they do release a no-IL M&P340, I'll buy at least one.

Until then I will stick to the SP101 for my small magnum revolver needs.

concering the locks...cant you just thor the key away and never use it?? does it impair functionality???

im guessing that polymers on semi-autos were designed to reduce weight???

i was wondering if fastening a polymer fire-control housing or what have you offers any advantage over lightweight alloys that can produce a revolvers right at the same weight??
i have read that the s&w mp .357 revolvers (frames) are a single piece of alloy??? is that so???

i have read range reports that claim the polymer attatched to the metal doesnt offer any greater recoil absorbtion???

so does a polymer in a revolver offer the same benefits as in a semiauto??? that cant be achieves in a solid alloy frame??? could it be broken easier in a physical altercation or replaced easier if broken???? the polymer section that is.

when i held the lcr over a centenial the trigger guard only looked bulkier but didnt appear to offer much more in gloved fingered space.

i guess if s&w is offering .357 revolvers at around 16 ounces and ruger at 18 ounces or so someone may have determined that weight managable for a dao/cc 5 shot weapon. likely 5 quick shots and game over.

practice would likely be more noticalbe than an actual defense scenario. adrenalin, etc.

if as a backup weapon some additional penetration of solid or semi solid barriers (autmobile perhaps) the higher powered 357 carts would seem to be a proper role the the guns.

I have both the Ruger LCR in .38 S&W Special and,the .357 and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The are both wonderfull shooters. The .357 is only 3.5 ounces heavier compared to the .38 which the difference is with the .357 is holding it a little tighter and higher on the standard grip. Recoil isnt to punishing if you have it gripped right.

Gotta go with the Smith. The jury is still out on the Ruger with different opinions. I would get the Smith without hesitation. Not enough field time on the Ruger.

340 Accessory Addition

I wasn't really thrilled carrying a speedloader in my pocket...or are you just glad to....well you get it.

I didn't like carrying the Speedstrip in my pocket as it was getting tangled up with all the pocket stuff I carry so I thought I would give one of these a try and it has worked out nicely for cleaning up the pocket. Designed to also be belt worn. Conceals what it is too.
