Hey guys. I have a Ruger Mark 1 standard from when I was a kid, digging it out of the safe and dusting it off, maybe put this thing through its paces. Wondering if any of you know any worthwhile upgrades? I see there's a Clark trigger available but apparently the trigger on Mk1 Rugers are a real honey to get out on account of an e-clip or something? In either case it says online changing the trigger in and of itself won't do very much, although I do like the overstop screw on the Clark.
Volquartsen has an upgraded extractor and firing pin I'm probably going to go for, and if I can't get it to shoot ballpark POA I may be looking at some adjustable sights. But as far as the Mark 1 goes that's about all I'm seeing? I think there might be a firing pin bushing out there, I think by Clark too. Is that a worthwhile upgrade?
Not opposed to digging around the works so long as there isn't serious danger of buggering something. To give a sense of my comfort level I've built an AR, detail stripped a 1911 and replaced the firing pin stop and safety, rebuilt a Marlin 1894 and of course I've already gone through the fun of breaking down this Mk1.
