-difficult maintenance/takedown
This is one of the biggest myths of the internet age. It's only difficult to do it you're too stupid, or too lazy to read the directions and follow them. I know, because I was both then I got mine. After getting it locked up tight, not once, but twice, I figured out that the guy who designed it, built it, and literally wrote the book on it, knew more than I did, I read and followed the directions and what do you know, they work. Who'd have thunk it? FOLLOW THEM. That's the key.
I'd get the MK III or any other "Mark" I could find if I wanted the best "bang for the buck." The 22/45 I had was scarey accurate. It made me look like I knew what I was doing. I did eventually sell it, but only because I started to specialize in Smith & Wesson revolvers, but that little Ruger would shoot.
The SP101 looks nice, but I'd rather have (and do) a Model 18 Smith & Wesson. YMMV.
