I have a Ruger Mark II Pistol:
7" Gov't Target Slabside with Target Sights.
No matter what I seem to do, I can't get the rear sight to stay put.
The sight is in a dovetail built into the receiver, with plenty of slop.
There is a screw down through the sight that is meant to bind against the receiver and hold it in place.
The screw is pretty small & I've tried putting lock-tite on the screw threads.
I even tried putting a little detent in the receiver with my dremmel. But, I chickened out and didn't go very deep.
- By the way, I've been putting lots of rounds through this gun. Maybe 4000 in the last few months. I've been using it to put people throught the NRA Marksmanship Program.
