I recently picked up a 183 series SS Mini-14 manufactured in 1982 for $300. The owner had no clue as to how many rounds had been fired through it as he was not the original owner. The bore looks fine and not like a sewage pipe. But, I still wonder...

For those with SS Mini-14, what is your round count up to?

Also, for those that have had to replace parts over the years...what are the parts that seem to need replacing the most?

Thanks

In the multiple thousands of rounds, so far.

Only the extractor, so far, and that was because mine broke trying to pull a lacquered Wolf cartridge stuck in the chamber.

Parts availability is one reason, probably the biggest, that I'm considering selling mine to fund an AR. Ruger won't sell you a firing pin, bolt or (I think) trigger assembly parts. They will, so I have read, fit spares for you.
