I am a Mini Fan. I changed mine up just a bit as you can see. It has never jammed on any ammo I have used. Hang with it! Mini's are lots of fun. My avatar is actually my sight through my Mini 14.

The two issues may be related it might be that your Barrel is canted One Direction in the gas Port isn't lined up with the bushing this would also mean that your side is way to one side
This is the most plausible explanation so far. A visible fault that can cause symptoms exactly as observed. All unmodified minis I've shot have ejected casings at least 15ft if not even further and if that's not happening the first suspect is some kind of restriction in the gas system. Misaligned gas port due to canted barrel would fit the description to a tee.

The gun is under warranty so it's best to let Ruger handle it. Lemons aren't very common and Ruger isn't known for trying to explain manufacturing faults as features so there's a good chance it'll be sorted out in no time.

LoonWolf, you were right on the money, barrel is canted!!

gas block has huge gap on one side and tightened down fully on the other side. Big gap between gas block and synthetic stock too, about 1/8" larger gap than there should be.

And my dealer, Turner's Outdoorsman said it's my problem, not their's. They said once I walked it out of their store I am s.o.l.

Front sight is canted off to one side about 5 degrees. I am really surprised this got through Ruger's QA process and through their test firing.

Ruger gave me an RMA number and a FEDEX label and I am to package it up and ship it to them.

Id expect Ruger will make it right for you in short order.

My only experience with larger gun retailers was sports authority, and they had the same policy.
Tho atleast one store would return products to the manufacturer for you, tho i doubt that was company policy....yeah i spent quite a bit of time hanging out at the gun counter there....

Ruger has a de facto lifetime warranty on their guns. It sucks that the store won't take care of you, but Ruger will.
