So Ruger chambers it's Mini (Ranch) in .223, 6.8, and 7.62x39. They have also created new "Ruger" rounds like the .480 and .375. Why not bring in the 6mmTCU and 6.5mmTCU as in-house Rugers and offer in the Mini/Ranch? Might the newly offered 20 & 30round mags work with these TCU's?

The TCU case design is not ideal for feeding through a semi-auto due to very little case tapper and a too steep shoulder angle. Could it be done? Sure. It'd probably even work... most of the time. Like I said, it's just not ideal.

Currently I'm loading 6mm, 6.5mm, and 7mm TCU for my Contender, and have a Ruger Ranch Rifle with a custom 23" Walther heavy barrel chambered in 6x45. Have had the RR for over 15 years. No issues with magazines w/the 6x45, and I see no reason why the TCU case would not work as well.

6mm/6.5mm tcu ar-15/6.5x223

Hello Fellas, I'm currently working on a custom Pac-Nor Barreled 6.5mm TCU AR-15 Upper with 24" polygonal rifling.

I think is a fine caliber, especially for the AR/Semi-Auto platform...just have to keep C.O.A.L. to 2.260" or so (some mags can go to 2.270 max., mine do).

Biggest pluses are::D

*223 Remington Parent Case*
*Fits Standard 223/5.56 Mags.*
*Uses STD.MilSpec.223/5.56mm Bolt/Carrier*
*TCU case has a 2-3% gain in powder capacity over the 223 parent case*
*Has excellent range and velocity and are very accurate*
*Can be used for Vamints to Large Game in Hunting applications*
*Light/Moderate recoil in rifle length barrels(16"-24")*

The only real "Minus" is you have to Reload for this Caliber,although you can find loaded ammo...its pricey.:rolleyes:

Does anyone have load data for the 6.5 TCU or 6.5/223 in Rifle length (20-24")? Seems nearly all lod data is for Contender length (Pistol) 10-15" barrels:confused:

Thanks,
