I use a nylon Uncle Mikes for my 5.5" Mark II with the bull barrel. Works just fine for outdoor carry, woods walks and so forth.

I have a bladetec holster for my Ruger MkIII Hunter 6 7/8" pistol. It works very well.

I bought the triple K holster offered on the Ruger website. Darn nice and at a fair price.

It just so happens that I recently bought a new holster for my 5.5" MKII. I got a Black Dog (some kind of dog) kydex holster through Amazon. It was only $25 or so, so I tried it. I really like it. It is a perfect for my MKII. It has an adjustable retention screw, so you can determine how much force it takes to draw/reholster. Not exactly my taste in holsters as I generally like leather, but the price is right and it looks like it will last. It even has a cut-out top for use with optics, although it will still work equally well guns w/o optics.

For my $.02 worth...I like it

I use the BlackDog as a range holster, they're pretty good and will fit just about any mkI/II/III in tratitional or 22/45 configuration, because they are molded to fit the receiver tube.

It works on a 6&7/8" taper barrel, 5&1/2" bull barrel, and my 8" lightweight pac-lite

I have a fobus...used it today for the first time at a collegiate pistol team practice.

Even with the retention screw all the way out, it kept hanging up on the trigger guard, killing the speed of my draw. I will be returning it and trying ou the blade tech
