A 1999 vintage 7mm Rem. Mag. stainless MkII came into our family a few months ago.
It had a factory laminated stock that was cracked. We replaced it with a Hogue Overmolded Pillar Bedding stock, which fit the action well but was too short for me.
I bought a Ruger synthetic stock from eBay, with the cut outs, and after adding a limbsaver pad this fits me well. I am satisfied with the accuracy.
So I now have a stainless 7mm Rem. Mag with the Ruger synthetic stock.
Was this combination ever offered by the factory?
