These rifles have always appealed to me, however from a lot of comments it seems they are not that accurate. With its action, I assumed that a No. 1 would be an exceptionally accurate piece. What's the story?
I've owned 2.One was a Model B in 220 Swift.Accuracy was very good with groups averaging about 1/2" at 100yds with reloads.The second I had was another Model B in 6mm Rem.It was very accurate one day and all over the place the next day.I think bedding the forend would have solved the problem but I traded it before finding out.They are beautiful rifles with exceptional lines.But the B Models are close to 8lbs. out of the box.Scope and rings increased weight to about 9lbs.Not good for lugging around all day but the weight helped a lot at the bench and groundhog shooting.
