Ruger No. 1 in 257 Roberts

I have a bad neck (and back now). Sling carry is a no go.
Normally its in the hand, and a #1 has no projections where my hand goes when carrying.
I also like the wrist of the stock, and older more beat up/arthritis..........it maintains comfort.
They just FEEL good to me.

And I get less accommodating the older I get.

Worse ways to spend the last few years of deer hunting, than toting a #1.
Think the A model is ideal

In a mild mannered cartridge...
The OP may have just gotten the perfect deer rifle

Anybody have a link to a pre-fit recoil pad? This one is separating and Ruger has offered to send me a new one, but it is a grind-to-fit. Really hoping to find a good aftermarket pad that fits.
