I am looking for a set of wood grips for my Ruger Old Army with or without the medallion . I want to custom them by putting a 1954 penny on one side and a 2010 penny on the other were the medallion goes. Reason being is I lost my dad to suicide on Christmas eve and am wanting to do a memorial on his favorite handgun. Maybe carve some words into the grips things like that. A lot of my friends cant understand why I even like firearms anymore. I say its not the weapon but its user, It is made of iron and wood. Nothing but a inanimate object. So why should I change who I am and surrender my favorite hobby. But anyways sorry to poor my problems out here. Any help finding grips is appreciated!

Sorry for your loss.

As to finding grips to use, I would recommend regular searches of the auction sites, and maybe check out any gun shows in your area. Something will turn up.
Oh, might go to the Ruger forum and ask there.

I'm not shure which, but either the "blackhawk/vaquero, or the super blackhawk fit the ROA. Might simplify your search.

Thanks everyone for the help and condolences! It warms my heart that complete strangers would even care.

KevininPa,

I called Ruger and was not getting any place so I came here. You guys have not let me down yet.

mgregg85,

Thanks for the link! You are only about 2hrs North of me. My dad was born in Midland. I was up there a little bit ago to see the The Tridge, always nice to see a fellow michigander!
