Ok, i noticed that, according to ace custom, full size S&W 45's (like the 4506) require a spring kit and plastic shock buffer to shoot full power .45 super.

A lot of people have said that the the ruger p90, being the tank that it is, should be able to handle .45 super with similar inexpensive mods (anyone with a p-90, just look at the size of your chamber walls). Ace says that it will easily handle their tactical loads (which really aren't any more powerful than the winchester ranger +P's). Question is, anyone done more than theorize about shooting .45 super in their p-90? Anyone actually do it?

yeah it can be done and has but you need to use liek a firedragon buffer or it batters the fram check out the ruger forum and one guy talks about shooting his ..

firedragon buffer

As i said, similar inexpensive mods...I was thinking a sprinco, but the firedragon is essentially the same thing. I have a similar guide rod in my taurus. It functions perfectly with all ammo and i don't have to worry about the occasional +P+ i run through the gun. I was supprised how well it works in reducing muzzle flip.

could you link me up to that thread on rugerforum?

ok, i searched rugerforum and found a couple. Seeing as how the P-90 was originally built to be a 10mm, .45 super should be cake with a recoil buffer. Good, looks like i just found me the .45 i want.

I've needed a .45 for a while...think i'll spring for one when i start making money this summer. I've seen them as low as a hair over $300. Good looking, accurate, built like a tank, can serve in an urban role or outdoor role as it can handle both anti-paper (.45acp), anti-gangsta (.45acp+P) and anti-large-animal (.45 Super). I think i'll be happy with a p-90.

Add one to the list:
1. Arsenal SLR-101SB (Shipping as we type)
2. Ruger P-90 (Update: Formerly "A .45")
3. Glock 26 (21st B-day present to myself along with a CWP)
4. A revolver (Neither me or my father own one...it's a shame)
5. Saiga 12 (should the AWB sunset allow pistol grips and 8 round mags)
6. DPMS Panther .308 (note: guns of this cost rely on me getting a damn good summer job or are left for post-college)
