ruger saftey locks?

Sorry if this was covered in a previous thread. but does anyone know when or if ruger is going to add saftey locks to they're double action gp or sp lineup?

Their "New Vaquero" single action frame has one in it's grip assembly, and you can probably assume the bigger Blackhawks will get them next. The 22 Mk111 and 345 have them. It's a matter of time, whether you and I want them or not.

I won't buy a gun with an integtral lock. Haven't bought a Smith since their agreement. Don't have one that's stainless neither. May pick up a 357/9mm SA convertible and a 45 Colt/45 ACP convertible, but they won't have locks. If it comes to that there's a place advertising grip assemblies without the lock that can be retrofitted.

There is nothing in the new 2005 Ruger catalog about safety locks on their DA revolvers.

I understand what you're saying concerning the lock in Ruger's latest single actions. But you don't need to go to the trouble and expense of replacing the whole grip assembly. All that's necessary is to remove the lock and replace it with a new mainspring seat. That's a simple part and easy to make.

I feel better now. I plan on getting a 3 inch gp. fixed sights sometime soon. do not when any integral locks on it. revolvers were not meant to have those types of safteys IMHO

Pezo - If you are planning on a 3 inch fixed sight GP purchased new, you'd better not tarry too long. The only one they still catalog is the 3 inch full lug stainless. If you want blued or a short-lug version, get to looking. Davidson's was selling both. I know they still have the blued, don't know about the stainless. People who like them are buying now.
