hi, i have a OM 1973 ruger single six ,RSSM ,6 1/2 barrel, drift rear adj rear sight. transfer bar converted, original lock work reinstalled.shooter grade. 22lr/22wmr cylinders. original box and paperwork.minor blue wear and minor scratches on grip frame.

can anyone give me a low to high estimate or blue book value for selling it. thanks Butcherboy

I have seen these anywhere from $300 - $400 lately for very nice shooters. On the lower end with the transfer bar conversion (the conversion lowers the value). You can get a brand new one for about $400 btw. Posting pictures is helpful since shooter grade can mean quite a lot.

I paid $350 for my 1978 Single Six in stainless steel in June of last year.

Well, since you have "unconverted" the conversion, it is essentially an unmolested OM Ruger Single Six w/both cylinders and the box and paperwork. If it is a shooter grade, not super nice, I would expect it to go for around $350 depending on the how badly scratched and worn, and the condition of the box and paperwork.

People interested in the OM are looking for a different creature than the NM revolvers, so the demand is different. I've seen minty OM Single Sixes go for more than a brand new NM. It's hard to compare the two. You are looking at more of a collector's market, while someone just wanting a shooter will buy a NM.

I don't have my blue book with me, so I can't actually give you the exact blue book values, sorry. Maybe someone else will.

Hi,
Just before Christmas I bought a single six 6.5 barrel with box and manual used for $300.00. The revolver include the original grips and a set of hoque runner grips. So, I feel the market is between $300 to $350.
Good luck,
Howard

I'll broaden the range to $250-$350 depending on condition. Personally, I wouldn't pay $350 or more for one without the earlier (1953-1962) XR3 grip frame.

It's a late OM that's been converted. Regardless of having the original parts reinstalled, it's still marked as being converted. Box, papers, etc helps. Without a good visual it's hard to give a better guesstimate. (one person's "minor wear" is another's excessive wear). I'd say it's in the $250-$350 range depending on the exact condition of the gun and the box. It's by no means a rare model to have it garnish any real collectibility (late model, converted).

Comparing a stainless NM in regards to valuing an OM is like providing the value of a '96 F150 when asked about the value of a '50's F-series.
