Bought a new stainless, birdshead grip, pinch frame Single Six today at a well-stocked shop. Was told to me that was a leftover part of a distributors special run from some time ago. Both .22LR and .22 Mag cylinders with it, and high polish to boot! My wife has already laid claim to this little beauty with the reasoning that it's too small for my hands, having a 3 3/4 inch barrel. But she says I can play with it too. Wish I knew more about this variation, since I've never seen one from the factory like this. thanks, Don.

I'm considering a Super Single Six as my next gun purchase. My son-in-law keeps too close of and eye on his for me to make it mine:rolleyes:

Beautiful revolver. Unless they made others, it should date to 2002 and was a Talo distributor special. I see one that is supposed to be new in box up for sale on GunBroker.com with buy now price of $520. Of course, it hasn't sold yet.

Ruger also made a birdshead Single Six, SS w/black grips, chambered for the .32 H&R Mag. I have the urge!

Looks like a terrific grip for a light recoil revolver, I'm jealous.

Always wanted to........

.........do that to a SS but when I priced out the parts and the firearm (even used, they don't go too cheap around here) it would've ran around $600-650. Bit much for me these days for a .22.

That is one super nice looking Single Six. Great aquisition, even if you do have to share it with your wife.

Is that from the factory? I didn't know they had Bird's head grips available.

I wish Ruger would do a birds head on the Bearcat

Here is another rare KNR4 "Liberty" Single Six .22lr/.22 Mag(300 or less were made). I discovered this revolver NIB two years ago:

Thanks everyone. Have not had a chance to shoot the little fella yet, but he balances and points naturally. The birdshead grip is wonderful for smaller hands. Now to the bench to start a slick little holster. Leather is a wonderful, artistic and practical craft that meshes well with our shooting hobby. Don

That's a beauty, I'm in the market for a birds head grip single shot revolver in .357. Real niiiice. Congratulations.

My understanding is that this is a new Talo run. At least that is what the guy told me yesterday at the Ft. Worth gun show (3/13/11).He had another which had a consecutive number to mine, of course I only had cash for one!!!!!!!!!#@#@!

These are not a run as a leftover and not exclusive to Lispey's. They a small run of 450 contracted for TALO and then distributed through their wholesalers. Lipsey's is one of them but it's certainly not exclusive to them.

High polished stainless with fixed sight

3 3/4 inch barrel

Bird’s Head Grip

Simulated Ivory

Model Number: 0669

Catalog Number: GKNRBH-3F-I

UPC Number: 7-36676-00669-4

Description: High polished stainless Single-Six with fix sights in .22LR with convertible .22MAG cylinder, birdshead grip, simulated ivory grips, and 3 ¾” barrel.

The birds head variation has been discontinued from catalog models.

Be hard to do a birds head Bearcat as the grip is part of the cylinder frame. Would require new castings and tooling. That = $$$$.

WOW, finding a NIB "Liberty" model is an outstanding score (only made them in 1976).

Just by coincidence when I went out shopping for my Super Single Six, it just happened to be in 1976 and ended up with a "Liberty" model (blue, 6 1/2" barrel). My first handgun and still my favorite after 35 years.

Very cool indeed!
