Ruger SIX series DA revolvers

I would prefer the Speed Six, as it is such a good concealed-carry gun. I already have several adjustable-sight GP100 sixguns, so the field sixgun category is well-covered.

fWIW, I do own a Speed Six and a Security Six, and use to own a Service Six, so I am familiar with them. All are really good revolving pistols!

I happen to like them all and have multiples of all of them but I like the Speed Six the best for Carry. Less sharp edges and a slightly rounded grip.

Speed Six is probably the best for carry but for an all-around gun I would go with a nice stainless Security Six.

I am not fond of the adjustable sights on the Security Six and prefer the round butt of the Speed Six over the Service Six. Have owned and shot all three.

I have always thought of the 4" heavy barrel Security Six as being the right combination of size, weight, and balance in a DA .357 revolver.

If I didn't already have one and had to make a choice between the 3 models mentioned by the OP, it would have to be a 4" Security Six. I believe they are more of a general purpose weapon.
In my case, already owning 2 Security Six and 1 Service Six....I would jump on the chance to own a Speed Six.

Now while I have four sixes, I've aways wished the Speed Six, with DAO hammer, was in .40 S&W. Yes a six shot ring clip .40 Speed six with bobbed hammer and Secret Service grips.

But alas, they don't make 'em anymore and I won't modify mine!

Not when you drive or sit in a chair all day they aren't! The muzzle sticks in the chain and the grips in the ribs. I have 4 inch Security Six, 4 inch Service six, 2 3/4 inch Speed and Security Six and the short barrels are far more comfortable all day.

I have 10 Six series guns and my absolute favorite is my low back 150 prefix model

Since I also have several Six Series revolvers and a good few in the 150 series, I'd like to hear your reasons for favoring your 150 S/N 4" Security-Six? I like em too-but, I'm interested in what your preferences are about them compared to the new model Sixes?

@slick6, I love the deep rich blue, the lower profile front sight, the serrated trigger, and the slight tang on the grip makes the factory grips more useful than the traditional Security Six grips (other than the target versions of course).

I have both the Security and Service blued revolvers. My hunting backup is the security six as the adjustable sights work better for me as a real tight shooter. The service six feels just a little better in the hand probably the tiny difference in weight. It is my night stand gun loaded with .38 JHP. My wife can shoot it okay in double action and so can I verses the Security. But, I can put 5 of 6 in a paper plate with the Security Six and just cant with the fixed sight Service. I know a lot of that is me. If I were to buy again, I would just get a stainless Securituy.

I would chose the Security-Six for the simple reason, it has adj sights. It isn't all just SD, sometimes I like to actually shoot my guns at targets and the adj sights makes it nice.
