any idea on what ones worth or can some one gimme some history on this lil 9mm . i see the 357 all the time never saw i 9mm til today

Google this up: "ruger speed six 9"

It takes some digging around because the 9mm wheelie is unusual, but there is a raft of information out there!

You can also search www.rugerforum.com I have one and they are great revolvers. I have seen them go for $300 on up to over $600. Like anything else it depends on the condition and supply/demand. The 9mm is a great additon to any collection.

I have one, works ok but is actually kind of ammo sensative. Got mine for $250 in the original box 3 years ago. Included no moonclips and everyone at gun shop thought it was odd hence the bargain price.

Prices in recent issues of Gun List have been high and I have not seen one below $500 in a long time. I don't believe very many were made and/or they were sent overseas where the idea of a 9mm revolver was probably less unusual.

These are great guns. They are getting harder to find and are commanding a premium price over the exact same gun in .357. I recently had no trouble selling one in excellent condition for $380. Perhaps I should have charged more?

It seems to be a love hate revolver, as some love it and some do not. I have wanted one for a long time but being in California they are pretty scarce. They would command a bit of a premium over other Speed Sixes as a collector piece, but as a shooter they should all fall close together.

Is the one you saw in California? ;)

no its in my hand right now ....in texas :) so your saying 250 for a 9mm speed six 95% with 20 something moons was good deal

Yes, an excellent deal that you should hanfg on to as it is worth more than that now and will only go up. I'd expect about $4-450 out here. I've got a 9mm SP-101 that I've been offered $500 for.

At the end of June on gunbroker.com a SP-101 in 9mm went for $393, which I believe was a deal. They just keep going up in price because there are not too many for sale.

The ones in California have added value because a California resident can only buy one in a private transaction with another California resident. No handguns from out of state may be shipped in unless on the approved list which leaves out all guns no longer in production. Yes, I know it sucks and the lawmakers here can be called many names that fit very well, but that is how it is until we get it turned around.

I rather hate to say it but the restrictions kind of add to the thrill of the hunt when looking for rare handguns.

The Ruger revolver in 9mm is excellent to train challenged shooters with if you only have 9mm ammunition. That's how mine is used.
