I am buying a Ruger Speed Six. It is a SS model with a 2 3/4 barrel. It is like new. $245 for the weapon with the box. Anyone have good/bad thoughts on this weapon. I am going to use it as a CCW weapon.

Based on the prices for a Speed Six around here you are getting a good price on a great gun. It is a no nonsense, reliable CCW weapon. It will last for ever and give you good service. I "loaned" mine to my Son several years ago and still haven't got it back. It was an old Parkerized work horse with the best double action trigger I had ever seen, and I am a S&W sort of guy. I am now looking for another. You won't regret your purchase. Keep shootin'

If it is truly like new, that is a remarkably good price. A dealer around here might ask nearly twice that price for one with wear marks.

Unless the weapon has mechanical or finish problems...that is a screaming deal.

Fantastic revolver and built to last an eternity.

That is an insanely good price. I've seen LNIB examples going for $450 recently.

At that price, I would grab it with both hands and run like the wind.

That is a great price on a very underrated revolver. Very reliable, strong and handles like a S&W K frame magnum. At that price I would jump on it.

Good luck,
Howard

I recently bought one that was not like new, or with the box and paid $275 before tax....$297ish after tax. I thought I got one heck of a deal. But it it is really $245 and is like new, I would be throwing elbows getting past people to buy it. Here is mine:

That's a fantastic price for a LNIB Speed Six! Around here that gun would go for around $400 to $450. Let us know how it shoots.

azgunner,
What calibre? For that price, in that condition buy it before someone else does. The Speed Six is a great revolver, rugged and reliable.

Oops, a Service Six snuck in the picture.

Grab it azgunner. Grab it fast.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat and make my excuses later to my wife (like I did with the 629-1 I got last month;-)

As we Southern farmers say--"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth".

I have one that I bought many years ago and it goes on my hip around my farmland with my pet mule "Pedro". It is a great revolver . Do not pass it up.

What??? it ISN"T already in azgunner's 'Artillery Locker' ? ? ? ?

Darn good buy on a very solid serviceable revolver. Last one I saw around here (3 years ago) was priced @ $450...NO wiggle room.

Sounds like a screamin' deal!

But please make sure it is functionally sound.
That price would make me suspicious.

Buy it now!!

I carried one on duty as an LEO for about 10 years. It rocks-you can drop it,get it wet, bash a perp on the head(the blood washes right off)and it shoots competently at 25 yards.:)
