I was thinking of picking one of these up. I have two of the SR1911 Commanders (LIghtweight and Stainless) and love them. I've seen a couple of threads about the 9mm Officer model, but not a lot of information. Does anyone have one, or have any feedback on them?

No experience with the Ruger, but 9MM 1911s are a lot of fun and cheaper to shoot. Unless you are looking to carry it, I would go with an all steel gun. Recoil will be a tad less and muzzle fip will be a bit less.

Likewise I have no time with a Ruger 9mm. Officers Model but I have been shooting 9mm. Colt Commanders for many years now (actually its a convertible, swapping out the .38 Super barrel with a 9mm. one). I also have a Colt Officers ACP in .45 and had a Colt New Agent LW in 9mm. All of them have been great; well built, very reliable, accurate, comfortable to shoot, along with having decent triggers and easy to acquire sights. I can't see Ruger straying too far from the successful formula they have already established with their SR1911 Commanders.

Let us know if you decide to pull the trigger (sorry couldn't resist), on the Ruger 9mm. Officers Model.

My SR1911's (both 45's) have never had a malfunction, and I've been very happy with them. I was at a LGS today picking up my P365, and they're offering me the Ruger for a pretty good price. I'm going to swing by there at lunch time tomorrow and order it. It would be something I'd carry, so I prefer the lightweight version. I'll be able to pick it up and shoot it Monday.

It was ordered. I'll either have it Monday, or with the 4th being next week it may be delayed until the end of the week.

Great choice! I love the lighter weight of my Colt Commander in .38 Super. With the shorter slide and the aluminum alloy frame, the gun just feels perfectly balanced and is comfortable to carry for long periods of time.

I finally had a chance to get to the range with it twice and am liking it. A lot. I put about 400 rounds through it the first day. It's as accurate as you'd expect a 9mm 1911 to be. From 21 feet when I took my time shooting every shot was in the X. The target I attached is 250 rounds shooting as fast as I could without getting kicked out of the range. It wasn't rapid fire, but it was close. It ate everything, including 115 grain RN ammo, 124 and 147 grain HST's, 124 grain Gold Dots and some older CorBon +P hollow points I've had for years.

The first day it failed to go into battery 1 to 2 times every magazine. That went away the second time out and I'm attributing that to the break in period, which I expected with a 1911. I was able to put about 400 more rounds through it my second time out without a failure of any kind. The recoil is minimal, even with +P ammo. Takedown is easy, and a little different than a traditional 1911. Once you remove the slide release you simply remove the slide, guide rod and barrel, similar to any one of the polymer guns or a CZ. The only issue I had other than the failure to go into battery was the grip screws coming loose every 200 hundred rounds or so. Locktite corrected that.

Good to hear that everything went well at the range (except for a couple of minor issues), and that it's reliable with wide variety of different loads. Also that you like the way it handles and it's intrinsic accuracy is just icing on the cake!
