LOUISVILLE KY. Finally escaped living in DRPMA.
One of the two magazines that came with my SR 22 has just developed a problem… it will not strip the tenth round and load into the chamber. After the ninth round the slide it Locks
Back as if the magazine was empty. The other magazine is perfect. Gun is about 5 yrs old. Has never had any problems before this. Is it possible that the spring is shot. What are y’all’s thoughts on this. No I have not yet taken it apart to try a deep cleaning/ lubrication.
Thanks for any and all help from everyone …. In advance!

Clean it first, if it still doesn't work call Ruger. At worst you waste a few minutes of your time, as best they send you a magazine.

First off, call Ruger's Customer service. Ask for two mag replacement springs, they will send them out at no charge. Compare the two mags and see if there's any slight differences. Be a good idea to take the mags apart and clean. They come apart very easily.

I had a similar problem with mine and found that the one magazine (of 4) had been improperly assembled. The gun and mags were previously owned so I have no idea whose fault it was but when assembled like the other 3 it worked just fine.

I lost a base plate part for my Sr22 which was purchased 6 years earlier. I called Ruger to buy the part. Told them I lost it. The customer service lady couldn't find a part number and said, Is it ok if I just send you a new magazine? Of course I said yes. This was about 6 months ago

Good on Ruger CS. I've had similar positive experiences with them.
