Is this a series 70 or 80?

Does it have an internal lock?

Internal lock is a Springfield thing.
Thankfully it is not contagious...yet.

Correct, though they've went with a much lighter weight titanium firing pin to achieve a relatively workable drop-safety setup. I wouldn't trust it quite as much as a real block, but it does greatly reduce the chances of the gun going off if dropped but without complicating the design any.
