My today's aquisition. Amazing gun. I did some targets with it, and I must say...I am now a 44 guy who used to be 357!

What are your experiences and thoughts on this model?

I just picked up my SRH a couple weeks ago, shot about 40rds through it and about 40 through my .357 at the same trip, the 357 is fun but the 44 is a freakin hoot!!!! Allot of fun to have that much power in your hands, guessing the wife will be shooting the .357 a bit more now since my attention will be elsewhere, love my .44!!!!! here are the "TWINS" together

I had never been a pistol shooter to any great extent.Several months ago I purchased a barely used 7-1/2" barrel Super Redhawk with a 2X scope. This pistol is great and has made a pistol shooter out of a formerly rifle only person.

7.5" .44 mag SRH in Stainless here. I was surprised how soft a shooter this gun is for being a full power .44- probably all the weight and nice grips. Built like a tank. Was going to get a Raging Bull but got the SRH instead- glad I did. Was going to go deer last year but ran out of time. Maybe next year.

I have one in 480 that I use for deer hunting. I don't even take a rifle out any more unless I'm hunting fields. The SRH could certainly use some gunsmith work to smooth some of the sharp edges however. Wide target hammer would be nice too.

Glad you were able to find such a gun and the ammo in Pakistan! Did you get it for fun or are you going to use it for serious purposes? Strong gun that will last you a lifetime.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Moonclip, I just bought it for fun, since I do not do much hunting, and it's too big to carry. I wanted a 44 Mag for a long time. The availability in Pakistan is limited when it comes to 44 Mag. They bullets cost me $7.5 each! Dont ask about the revolver or you will puke!

Been there, done that.
Then, went to the SRH in .454, but, I didn't like the recoil so I sold it. Then a freind of mine bought a S&W .460 and after shooting it, I HAD to have one!
It is THE most accurate revolver I've ever shot, and will do 1" groups at 100 yards with factory (Hornady) ammo, with about the same recoil as a .44.

Bought one of the early model SRH back in the late 1980s and it was extremely accurate for me - very pleased! Sold it a few years later when I moved and did not have access to an outdoor range! Big Mistake!

Later I found a outdoor range to join. After some years I decided to trade for a SRH again. As luck would have it this one was a total lemon:mad:

Lesson learned , once you have a gun that is a shooter , never part with it!

I've got a 10" .44 Super Redhawk. Just love it. I put a scope on it but really it shakes a bit too much to keep the crosshairs directly on target. After cranking down the scope rings now I have to take the time to uncrank them and take the scope off. It's more a "fun gun" anyways.
