Get the gun(s) in your hands and shoot them if you can! I like the feel of the SR9 / SR9c, but I wanted an outside hammer, DA/SA and went with a stainless P95. If I hadn't liked the feel of the P95, however, I would have gone with an SR9.
Many of the internal parts of P-series pistols are stainless, and the P95 has a well-deserved rep for reliability and durability. It's a well-engineered design with few issues. There's a tiny ring on the end of the recoil spring guide (called the camblock by Ruger) that can come loose, but the pistol can be run with no problems without it, according to what I've read.
Mine runs fine on everything I've fed it: a mix of brass-cased ball and JHP ammo of different weights. 9mm+P or +P+ is no big deal in the P95. An interesting point is that the Ruger P95 is one of the few pistols whose manual approves of steel- and aluminum-cased ammo, so you won't void your warranty if you insist on using cheap, steel-cased 9x19mm.
All my best,
Dirty Bob
