Cabela's is having their annual Christmas sale on S&B primers, with free shipping at $100 and a $20 Hazmat. I've got 10k of large and small pistol on the way.

Merry Christmas!

Seems I already have a full stock of primers each time this happens. Maybe next time.

In for 23,000

I had already bought 13,000 at $23.49 earlier this month and they matched the price. I then bought another 10,000.

With coupons & gift cards, $100 for $82 off of Ebay, I got out the door with tax for $17.92 a thousand!

I ordered a bunch.
Probably old news, Bass Pro's acquisition of Cabela's is complete.
I really don't care except that I now have to pay sales tax when I order online from Cabela's since there is a Bass Pro store in Iowa.
Could have picked them up at the store to save the $20 hazmat but decided my time was worth more. Still a good buy.

If you ever do the figuring about how many primers you need to load an 8# canister of powder, you will be shocked. For example: recently bought an 8# canister of WST to load .45 ACP. Using a 4 grain charge weight, I need 16,000 primers to use up the WST.:uhoh: Uh, oh, time to get off the forum and order some more large pistol primers.

I do the exact same thing. SVM gift cards' $100 Cabela's cards for $82... Pretty good savings!

I'm of the opinion that having too many primers is hardly possible.

Buy em cheap, stack em deep.
Primers have long shelf life. I keep them wrapped in plastic. I am using up primers bought 20 years ago and they still go bang.
I ordered 5000 spp. I've never used them but hear they go bang.
I have been happy with S&B SP/LP primers bought previously and ordering more.

Only with orders of $99 or more . Still, stocking up on primers is always a good move; stored properly, they last indefinitely (or until it all comes down). In for a brick, thanks OP.

Bad time of year with all of the Christmas buying going on around the Helix household, but I couldn't resist and ordered 10K. I wish I could have ordered more, but that is as far as the wallet would stretch for now. I had to pay almost $14 tax on top of the $20 Hazmat fee, but it was still a good deal.

I hear you Doublehelix, and yes, the deal was too good to pass up, so I have 12K coming (6 ea SP & LP). Going to give 8K (2K of each) to the two kids. Maybe 10K.

Cool, ordered some more!
Cabela's now collects sales tax if your in CA:thumbdown:
(I'm sure they are required to so not their fault)

I also always date my primers and powder. Not sure that it really matters, but I do it anyway. I at least make sure I am using the older stuff first if nothing else.

Primers tend to go the fastest, and the more common powders go quickly as well, but some of the rarely used powders can gain years quickly.
