A local shop has a S&W 1006 in the case for $499.95. Is that a fair price?
It looked to be in good shape and I really wanted to fondle it, but apparently the staff was too busy shooting the bull to wander over in my direction.
So, is the price good, bad or ugly if it is in good shape?

Thanks, modified.

The 10mm Smith's have been going up in price lately, so I'd say if it's in real good condition, $499 isn't bad.

I recently paid $525 for my 1006.

These things are built like tanks!

Even though more 1006s were produced than any other S&W 10mm, they are getting harder to find and the prices are going up. Not a bad deal, IMO. Great gun; I love mine.

You're looking at a gun and they're too busy shooting the bull? go elsewhere

PWRDbyTRD, I agree I was not too happy with their CS when I left the shop. Then again I was slacking off from work myself at the time. I may have to go put some money down on a layaway tomorrow.

Thanks, guys.

Sorry, I kind of got off topic, it's not a horrible price. It depends what the market will bear, it's like glock is mass. Anyways, customer service is the biggest aspect to me and that's what worries me. I can afford an extra 20 bucks knowing that if I have a valid question or concern they'll help me out.

Fine advise if it where a gun he could get somewhere else, but think back to the last time youhave seen a 1006 on the shelf. I frequent many gunshops and gunshows, and there just aren't a whole lot of 1006's left on the market.

$500 is a good price for a decent pistol. I'd say defininately go for it. I love my 1006 (that I paid $525 for 3 years ago; It was and still is like new and came with box and mags).
