S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

I love my three Model 14-3’s. Fantastic guns, all.

5”, 6” and 8 3/8 Model 14’s shown here with the Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel .38 Spl. from the 1930’s.

IMHO, there is nothing I find more fun and relaxing than shooting finely made, accurate .38 Special revolvers.

Buy it, thats a nice specimen.

Stay safe.
your Collection is ridiculous!

Another One! ..... I thought I locked the gate so Mark couldn't get out to go dig up more bones. (small southern dang!) Nice work Mark you won't care about the cost after a year or to and certainly not on your death bed. So pony up, enjoy.
A while back he proclaimed he was going to shoot more and buy less.

I’m going to buy this gun because I have never seen it in the Wild. Of All the crazy Revolvers I’ve seen in the Seattle Area, never a 14 dash anything (strange). Yes… I will pay too much NOW, but I need to load up some Speer 148 SWC and see what it can do!

I have a Perfect Colt .38 Target gun .. Let’s See how it’s Perfect Smith Counter part Compares… Range Report SOON
The Model 14 with any barrel length is a sweet shooting gun especially with 38 wadcutter target ammunition.

Besides the 8-3/8" and 6" Model 14's, I have a 4" and 2" Model 15. All four are 38 Special chamberings and are fun to shoot on a lazy afternoon of shooting on a Saturday afternoon.

Enjoy.

I'd offer a lower price. Take it if they offer. If they don't I'd be tempted to buy it anyway. I love mine.

I'm in the too high camp, but heck in you want it, it's there. Me personally, I'm watching for a five screw one from the 50's to go with my '51, 22 Masterpiece. I'd expect to see a decent one tagged around $700 in today's market, no box, papers, etc. But the market can change either way overnight.

Point of interest. Smith and Wesson never called it a "Target Masterpiece." They simply called it the K-38/Model 14 "Masterpiece". People started tacking on the "Target" after the "Combat Masterpiece" came out. I'll use "Target Masterpiece" myself, then do a forehead slap. Duhhhhh.

I don't think those are Smith and Wesson stocks. Probably "Sile" with that big diamond in the center. Good grips, just not factory. A 14-4 would have most likely shipped with Magna's and a previous owner wanted targets.

I’m in the club of too expensive.
I just three weeks ago picked up a S&W Model 15 in similar condition for $405 off of GB. Total after taxes, shipping, and transfer was under $500.
It’s a SHOOTER!
Haven’t had it out but twice, but on second trip, I shot a “clean” 12rds in 20sec at 15yds. 158gr SWC over 3.6gr of HP38. Duplicates the 755fps service load.

If the M14 had ORIGINAL box and paper work, the it might be worth the price.
If you are happy, then it was a good deal!
I’m happy with my M15! No box, just a cheap plastic holster…
Photos or it didn’t happen 😁

Guilty. Although I'm proud of myself for walking out of a shop yesterday without a new 629. I've done enough 4473s the last 120 days, but the stuff on my want list keeps turning up, for prices I'm willing to pay
That $1400 .38 Dimond Back in near perfect condition… I would have to been blind & drunk to not buy that on the spot. Yep! things just keep popping up to! I told my wife last night to go make more money! This Trophy Husband has been a bad boy!

LOL. Well man there's some things you just can't walk away from. In my case I got helped by losing a few things that were taking up room in the safes, so a bit easier on the budget.
Good scores champion, at this rate your next purchase should be a larger safe(s)
