Well I found one of these with the titanium cylinder in like new condition with box and all and it even come with a set of Crimson trace grips the 405's. price was $580 OTD so I put her on layaway. My questions are has anyone here who has one of these found which .357's will/will not jump crimp in this gun?

Also whats the deal with the cleaning of the titanium cylinder? Should I just use breakfreee CLP and patches to clean the cylinder inside and out? Aren't brushes a no no in these titanium cylinders? Is breakfree okay to use on the 340PD? Thanks for any help guys.

Sounds like an excellent price.

I had a crimp jump with Magtech 158 gr SJSP so I stay away from those.

Can't help w/other questions.

I only carried mine with Speer Gold Dots 135gr 38spl +P....I'm too chicken to shoot 357mag through it. Stings enough with +P's.

Great to carry ,never knew it was there.

Cheers
Rikman

You can use a brass brush with Hoppes to clean the inside of the chambers. On the outside use CLP Break Free with a patch. A trick to clean off the powder residue is a regular pencil eraser.

Mine is a carry gun that is shot very little. I practice with a 640. I want my alloy 340 for weight savings. I do not see it as a range gun. I see no need for the use of .357 in it for my needs. I have shot some old Nyclad .357 158 gr. ammo that shot fine with no crimp jump. I currently keep mine loaded with 135 gr. gold dots. This gun suits my purpose perfectly. Your price sounds like a bargin. As to cleaning, I use a toothbrush with solvent to get the powder residue off. Remember to cover the laser with a piece if tape when you are cleaning the gun. Solvent or dirt will distort the dot.

Good advice. I also have found I can remove the grips and reinstall them without shifting the dot significantly--e.g., more than one inch at the ten yards I've sighted in for. (The trick is to notice your screw settings and reinstall to the same ones.)

I have not had any issues with plated bullets, of which I have shot several different types. On the lead bullets I have had the bullets pull out and jam the cylinder.

Most people carry this gun with .38+P in it. I've shot .357's too, but it's no fun even with the 38 +p's and follow up shots are harder with the .357 because of the excessive recoil. I just clean it in the normal way. Haven't noticed any problem.
