This will be a hard question to answer . . .

I just bought a new S&W MP 340 - 357 magnum J-frame. It came with the Crimson Trace grips and a factory Trijicon front night sight. I love this revolver .. .

The front sight doesn't seem to be that bright though. I never had any guns with night sights, so I have no feel for how bright this front sight should be. It just seems like it should be brighter. I've seen pics on the internet of other night sights, and I realize they are probably long exposures . . which may make them look brighter than they really are.

In a totally dark room - should the sight seem very bright - or barely visible? Mine is very faint. I'm just wondering if something is wrong with the sight.

Thanks in advance. . . .

I have the same gun you do. I've also had other handguns with Trijicon front sights. All of them are not "that bright." However, they are not "very faint." Since you just bought this, call up S&W CS and see what they might want to do.
