There is a s&w 625 model of 1988 that dealer claims is military marked.I never heard of any.The picture shows a group of proof marks underneath the bbl.Any smith experts heard of any such gun.Oh I forgot it's on gunbroker.

Any chance you could post the link to it on Gunbroker????

I just looked for it on gunbroker, and all I see are new Jerry M. 625-8 models.

been trying to post picture...no luck.If u guys can send me your email address I can do it that way.I need someone to look at the picture before I pay for it.It appears to have a hole in the bbl.look all the way to the right of the markings.

It is not uncommon for the military to procure a limited number of guns for target shooting, evaluation, or some other special purpose, and they may be marked as "U.S.", or have some similar service branch marking. But there are also many fake markings, put on to enhance the value of the gun.

Anyone planning to buy a non-standard gun with military markings at a price substantially higher than a similar gun without the markings should be very careful. As always, "Buy the gun, not the story."

proof marks could be from a gun brought in from a differnt country, i have seen them maked that way, and it was on the bottom of the barrel
