Anyone own one of these yet? Im thinking of saving for one to have a big bore revolver (To go with the DE :p) I like the fact that it can handle a .45 LC and .454 casull. But how much accuracy can you get out of the .45 caliber rounds. Arent they a little undersize, or is the .460 just rounded up?

Haven 't shot one, but got to handle one the other day. Really well balanced for a big gun. There was a thread about the 460 a few weeks ago that you can search for.

Slim Jim,

There was an aritical in the July/August american handgunner about the 460 X-Frame, that gave it a very good review. It was by Charles E. Petty if I remember correctly.

Anyway thinking back, he mentioned that the 45LC would shoot low in the 460, requireing a sight adjustment, and thats about all be said on the matter....I I think he is saying not to expect stellar accuracy from a 45LC in a 460 cylinder, just plinking fun. Use 460 rounds for accuracy.

Also, can I ask what you think of your Dessert Eagle. They look like alot of fun. Does the weight and bulk make it a little harder to shoot though?

Have one of these popular shooting magazines ever given a gun a BAD review?

lol, that's a good point. Every review is actually always a glowing one, that plays down any problems they had with the gun. I supose thats what you can expect when they only plink about 300 rounds though a "test gun".

But I was peturbed by the fact that you can still see some deep milling marks over the barrel of the 460 in the photographs. What ever happened to pride of workmanship?

The bullets are.452, same as the 454 and 45colt. The case is just longer. I have a 460S&Wmag and I am still testing handloads for the best group size. Right now I using a 300grn XTPmag and lil' gun . I need to develop my shooting skills before I worry about group size. This Is my first revolver, I had the hots for a Super Redhawk in 454 for a while, when I saw the 460S&Wmag I knew It was the one for me ;)

The weight and the gas system tame the recoil of .44 mag down to .38 special or 45 acp levels, its a joy to shoot. The bulk, well, if it fits your hands, than your good to go. Its my Fun gun. Very accurate also.
