Bought my girlfriend the Bodyguard revolver for her birthday. I guess I have two remarks - one, look over every inch of the frame before you buy. I don't know how many times I've learned this lesson and still ignore it. Anyway, with the revolver after I got home and was really taking a closer look at it, it seemed there's a weld in the trigger guard. It structurally sound, but looks like it clearly cracked and was repaired at the factory. If I had my druthers, would prefer one without that, though functionally there's no difference and it's hard to see without close observation.
Second, for the laser sight - the buttons are not positioned or shaped in a terribly ergonomic way. I think Ruger makes a good .38s revolver with lasers that are turned on by squeezing the grip. That's a lot easier, but to activate the laser on the S&W takes a little practice to make it smooth, and I could see fumbling with this if one was in situation calling for quick reaction. Got to remember - slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
