Anyone have one of these? Likes and dislikes? Thinking about getting one for my wife to carry. I know they are light, but. I have a Ruger LCR 357 that I carry. She likes shooting with the laser, and the Bodyguard already has a factory one installed. And the price is right. thanks trikerider

I loved mine. I didn't have a laser, but it was a great plinker and felt very well armed when I carried it. I loaded mine with +p 158gr LSWC, little bit of a kick, but with practice I was dead on with that little revolver at 21 feet.

Bought my girlfriend the Bodyguard revolver for her birthday. I guess I have two remarks - one, look over every inch of the frame before you buy. I don't know how many times I've learned this lesson and still ignore it. Anyway, with the revolver after I got home and was really taking a closer look at it, it seemed there's a weld in the trigger guard. It structurally sound, but looks like it clearly cracked and was repaired at the factory. If I had my druthers, would prefer one without that, though functionally there's no difference and it's hard to see without close observation.
Second, for the laser sight - the buttons are not positioned or shaped in a terribly ergonomic way. I think Ruger makes a good .38s revolver with lasers that are turned on by squeezing the grip. That's a lot easier, but to activate the laser on the S&W takes a little practice to make it smooth, and I could see fumbling with this if one was in situation calling for quick reaction. Got to remember - slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

I look forward to seeing this thread play out...I looking at a BG38 also

I have a M49 (old steel frame bodyguard) and love it, great gun. I'm going to look for a pre-lock bodyguard airweight. If I can't find it I'm likely going to get an LCR in 38

I have the 649 - the stainless steel version of the bodyguard and love it. The polymer framed- new bodyguard is nice. The trigger pull is sweet. One of my students bought one for daily carry and has really enjoyed his.

I have about 100 rounds through mine. Once you get used to the controls, all is good. In the pocket now.
