I have a chance to purchase an M & P .45 for a really good price (used under $300). It's the full size in black, in great shape, but without any of the swag (case, extra mag, back straps). I would like a full size .45 with rail as my main home defense gun and range gun (in .45), and I had my heart set on a Kimber Warrior (the CDP Pro is one of my carry guns), but can't afford it at this time. I've heard good things about the M & P in .45 as a platform, I'm not nuts over the trigger, and it has no safety, but I'm not as worried about that since I won't be carrying. Any thoughts?

M&p .45

Thats asmokin deal on a great firearm. I have never seen one come in for repair and I was fortunate enough to attend the S&W M&P armorers school. The M&P is indestructible. Does it have the Mag disconnect? Either way, a gun well done.

Go NOW and buy it for that price!
:what:
I own a lot of guns and this is one of my favorites:

Well I picked it up last night, a range report will follow. Any suggestions on a better trigger? I'll probably add Trijicons too if its a keeper. I couldn't resist it, my manager gave me a can't miss deal. I must admit that ergonamically besides a good 1911, it's a great fitting gun. Points naturally too.

I'd take the S&W over the Kimber anyway. You really have a safety net built into this deal because, as others mentioned, you could choose to sell it later and break even or better.

You should've bought the M&P45 ... like yesterday! That is a smokin deal, even without the rest of the accesories. The cheapest I've ever seen one being sold is $475 w/ box and acc.

I've owned the 9mm and 40 versions, both of which are excellent pistols. Buy with confidence. You also get Smith&Wesson's impeccable warranty and CS.
