Full size, but in 9mm

I have had one for about a year now. i truely love it. seems that they fit people who just can't get into shooting Glocks and XDs. That was the case for me, its just like an extention of my hand. I use the small backstrap. I have about 1200 rounds through mine, including up to 500 without cleaning. I have just put factory through it, no reloads. Not one issue, acceptable combat accuracy (4" circle at 15 yards semi-rapid fire, haven't tried it off bags or in a rest) Federals with 115 gn hollowpoints. Seems they had initial problems with some (especially in 40) but haven't heard of any problems in the last 6 or so months. hope it helps.

I've shot the 9mm fullsize and compact. They are nice guns for striker-fired pistols (which I'm generally not fond of). Good ergonomics. They aren't anything super-special, just duty guns, as the name suggests. They are pretty accurate, but the trigger takes a little getting used to. They feel "spongy" for lack of a better term, at least until you get all the take-up out, and then it breaks crisply. Shoot a mag through one, and you'll be able to predict the breaking point of the trigger and stage it appropriately. It's consistent, and that's the main thing. Any trigger can be learned as long as there's consistency there. I would put these pistols in the same category as Glocks. Workhorses that you aren't scared to get the finish rubbed off of, or get an occasional scuff or ding. I prefer the pistol's ergonomics and pointability over the Glock. That being said, I'm not going to rush out and buy either...

BTW, you're pulling for the wrong tigers.

Have the .45, great gun. I generally don't like polymer guns, but the M&P was such a well executed design that it has a place in my collection.

I talkied to S&W last week and, while they offered no ETA, there will be 14 round magazines for the M&P .45 int he future.

I strongly dislike polymer guns. I also dislike striker fired guns.
That being said, I bought an M&P9 full size because it fits my hand like a glove and is likely to be one of the first things banned if something bad happens with the Heller case.
I liked it so much, i ended up also buying the M&P9c. That way I have compatible carry guns (ammo and mags match up) with identical platforms.

Man i hate plastic guns. But these... they are just that good.

BTW, i'm in the same boat as SEMNshooter. Glocks don't fit my hand well, nor to they point naturally for me. And I really don't like the balance of the XDs that I've handled. They are all wobbly and top-heavy for me.

If you don't mind a "full size" [4 1/2" bbl], double stack gun, I highly point at the M&P45. Easy to shoot, easy to double tap, probably will fit your hand. I prefer mine to my FS 1911s.

Love it!

I have the 9c and the full size 40, and have found no faults with either. A 5" model should be released any day now and I will be getting one in 9mm to shoot in IDPA matches.

I bought an XD and a M&P in .45 about the same time, the XD stays home in its case now when I go to the range. The M&P is accurate and dependable and feeds anything.
