I got a call from the LGS last week, said he just got a LNIB 15-3.
He said it has box, tools, papers and original 1973 sales receipt of $117.99.

He said there’s also a Model 28 5 screw no box/papers/tools there at $750.
I already have two 3 screw specimens, one LNIB, and so since table saw purchase, passed on first choice on the M28 (the force was with me).

I told him I’d be there at lunch. I said he could have called last week… before I purchased a new $2000.00 cabinet table saw
I was conflicted but opportunities like this don’t come by often.

Off to the LGS at lunch, sure enough basically just fired once or twice and put in box.
One form 4473 and I was out the door with my new M15.

Serial number puts DOB at 1971.

Beautiful revolver . I would have paid that in a heart beat . Much nicer than what they make now IMO .

Wow, very nice and at a decent price. Looks like it just left the factory and was put in the dealer's showcase. And people say there's no such thing as time travel.

I like the 15 as well

I just bought a corrections department trade in model 15 for $275.00. It came with HOGUE grips, just the way I like them.

The gun was tight, although a fair amount of the blue had worn off, I saw no scratches. The action was very smooth and when I took it to the range, it really surprised me with how well it shot.

I am considering buying another at that price and having it ported and given a street slick action job. A very nice gun.

Beautiful 15!

Hey, golden... consider carefully whether you want to port that gun. I Mag-Na-Ported a Model 66 and wish I hadn't. You will continually be scraping either lead or other burned powder and residue of the sides of the front sight. Luckily the 66 is stainless, but on a blued gun I'd think awful hard... just a thought.

I have done it before

RAINDODGER,

I have ported other guns and did not find it a problem. The port mess is pretty dependant on ammo.

I have two L-frames and a K-frame that I had ported and love them all. I used to carry a S&W 681 as a duty gun and had it ported after I went to an auto. I also have a 586 with a 6 inch barrel that is the nicest .357 magnum I have ever handled, just heavy.
The K-frame is a 4 inch 547 model in 9m.m.

I port only defense guns since most of the target loads do not really function well with a port. The low pressure defeats the purpose.
