Whitecoyote, just wondering if you have fixed the problems you mentioned back in February?
Funny you should ask. I just received it back today from Dave Sams.
The S&W needed a lot more work than I thought, but I will say Dave Sams did a fabulous job! The S&W "Fitz Special" is now good for another 100 years!

Work completed on the S&W:
*Clean & lube
*Install end shake bushing-cylinder X2
*Adjust timing
*Polish internal componants/action job
*Re-stake loose hammer pin, cylinder stop, trigger rebound
*Weld-up/re-cut hammer cocking notch/lube
*Replace rebound lever spring
*Function test fire - no malfunctions
*True barrel throat

I'm going to have some Elk/stag grips made for it. Still debating if I should have it reblued.
I'll post some new pictures of it soon.

I wouldn't refinish it ... for some reason I'm thinking a Fitz shouldn't be too pristine. Should be a workhorse gun (which is why I like the wood grips you have on it too ... although I'd never try to talk anyone out of stag).

Anyway, you're going to have to start wearing a Fedora or Porkpie I think ... maybe a seersucker suit too.

pj150's 1917 Brazilian is now mine! Here's a couple of pics with it's new faux ivory grips -
