Would anyone not use 45 ACP +P in a 625 so chambered? Is there any reason not to use the 45 Colt at the same pressure levels? I don't think so. I agree with Linebaugh. A 260-280 grain bullet @ 1000-1075 makes a bunch of sense to me.

The frame is not the problem it's the the thickness of the cylinder walls when you bore those big .45 holes.

....plus the bolt notches are directly over the chambers making the walls even thinner at that point.

I suspect if you get some hardcast 250's and launch them at 1000fps, the penetration will be enough to bust a bear's skull.

I think I recall seeing some data off sixgunner where folks did penetration tests and found these loads gave surprising penetration.
