My model 28 "Highway Patrolman" has a sticky extractor.
The gun was stored under a water bed for 10 years before it was re-discovered and ended up in my hands. It had a lot of rust on the left side of the frame. I pulled it apart, sanded all the rust off and painted it.
The rust was pretty bad but the gun was in good mechanical shape. Before I went thru it I had noticed that the extractor was really rough. Well.... a full cleaning and refinish later it is still rough as hell.
To the point.... Any one have any advise? I took some polishing compound and polished the extractor but it is still rough as hell the last 25% of travel.:banghead:
