S&W model 41 rifling

Last month I purchased a model 41 and it shoots fine and is very accurate.

While cleaning this gun I noticed the rifling is almost non-existent. Does anybody own an older model (80’s, 90’s) and a new model that they can compare the rifling and let me know what they think.

Current S&W barrels are rifled using an EDM process, and the rifling is shallow. If it shoots O.K. I wouldn't worry, but that said I prefer the older barrels for use with lead bullets. Twenty-two rimfire may be the exception to the rule.
