I have had my MP-15 for about a year and a half now. My friend just purchased his a few weeks ago...the exact model as mine.
We went out shooting, and we were both looking at the rifles when he pointed out that there was a small difference between the two. Where the serial number is, mine was marked "SM XXXXXXX" while his read "SN XXXXXX"
I'm curious as to how many rifles are marked SM. I never noticed it before, but I would think SN would be the more correct marking to denote "Serial Number."
Then again, SM could stand for "Serial Marking" or something to that nature?
What's your rifle say? SN or SM?
