Hey guys - just got my S&W SD40VE yesterday and can't find any ammo to shoot (have some dies and bullets on the way from Grafs but that'll take another week or so), so I figured I'd go ahead and install the Apex spring kit in the gun while I wait :).

Looking at Apex's Youtube video as a reference, I got the striker-block spring and striker spring in no problem. The trigger return spring is giving me problems though. The pin came out of the sear-housing ok and I removed that, but I can't get the trigger pin out for nothing. I am putting pressure on it from the right side as in the video and lifting up on the slide lock lever, but it won't come out. It'll move about 1/32" but then it feels like its catching on something.

Any ideas here? In the video it looks like the thing literally flys out as soon as he lifts on the slide-stop, so I'm not sure why mine is being so tough.

Thanks.

Wiggle the slide release while pushing the pin. It doesn't take much force at all, just wiggling into the right position will let the pin slide right out.

Just wanted to update and say that I got it in. Took some advice from some guys on a dedicated S&W forum and get "aggressive" with it. The spring is now installed and everything is working. Really glad I got it in as that trigger return spring had way more effect than just the other 2 did. Don't have a trigger pull gauge but the pull is definitely a lot lighter than it came from the factory now.

I ordered the kit today and my SD40VE is still en route to my FFL... Glad you posted this, I'll be doing the same thing in a few days.
