S&W snubbie vs Taurus?

I carry a 450 Taurus every day in my right hip pocket and have shot the ported 45 Colt in the dark I also have fired a 1911 in the dark I cant tell the difference. I carry CorBon's in mine and they are not to much in the 2" brl , acceptable accuracy.
PS there has never been anything wrong with mine.

My CCW snubbie is a S&W 296, Al & Ti .44 S&W Special enclosed hammer 5-shot weighing in at ~21 oz loaded with Blazer 200gr GDJHP's, it's only diet.

I just bought another 'snubbie'... a M10-11 with 2" barrel (new from CDNN $280). It has the same grip I put on my 296 - a rounded butt Uncle Mike's that encloses the backstrap, really necessary with that 296. Unlike the true airweights, a la the 637 & 642, it weighs in at 26 oz - and has a grip sized for a normal hand (Try those little J-frame grips...). It shot POA at 12yd with 158gr LRN Blazers, which were somewhat difficult to extract due to the short ejector rod and Al cases. The Win 130gr FMJ's hit ~8-10"lower - but dropped out unassisted. It is an easy one handed weapon to fire - and follow-up, due to the good grip and enough mass to keep it on target. I am not sure about it's being .38 +P rating - a call to S&W is in order. It is the 'home defense' revolver now - my wife can shoot it quite well. Great bargain, but take the sideplate off and flush and lube it - mine was dry! According to the S/N, mine was made in late 1999. The 2" M10's were dropped from the catalog by 2001. Of course, it is the latest version of the age-old 'M&P' .38.

A call to S&W yesterday revealed that my M10 was indeed +P rated - and had left S&W, along with the 6" M66-6 I also just bought from CDNN, in January of this year. A bit bigger than the J-frames and other more traditional'snubbies', it is a real 'six shooter'!

I am happy - my nine revolvers, all .44 or larger, finally have a pair of .38's as siblings - my first-ever .38 caliber revolvers.

When I got married 10 years ago my big brother handed me some cash on the side and said congradulations and buy yourself a new gun. I honestly split the money with my wife and i got myself a S&W 442. I wanted a revolver that I could just put in my pocket and pull out fast snag free to use for up close work if need be. To this day the 442 is my most carried revolver , in my front left pocket in a Uncle Mikes pocket holster and a speed loader in the right pocket. You can't go wrong with it . It is double action only so you do have to work on your trigger pull a little. My buddy has a S&W 38 that has the hammer conceiled but you can still grab the hammer with your thumb nail to cock it and shoot it single action if you like. I forget the modle though. Good luck.

All of my Taurus snubbies have performed 100% perfect. No complaints.

In my CCW class, there was a gentleman who shot a taurus .38 special snubby.
Holy cats, that gun was loud. I mean really loud.
Waaaaaaay louder than my 357SIG.
I asked him what he was shooting, thinking it was a .357 mag extreme load or something.
Turns out, it wasn't even +p.
Yup, it was ported.
