Had a chance to get to the range this weekend. Needed to sight in the Burris Fastfire III on the 617 and the II which I just put on the 620. Both were pretty close, just needed a little fine tuning. The III has a slightly smaller dot, and a manual selector for brightness in addition to the auto adjust.

Brought along the 15-3 and 18-3 to get old school time as well.

Also had the pair of 25-2s along and decided to try a different angle for the photo

Just a personal preference but I hate revolvers with a rail on them. Iron sights are the only way to go for me.

61 year old eyes make the look of the optics tolerable, especially the sight picture. From a purely aesthetic perspective, I agree. I'm only putting optics on the newer guns, leaving the old ones untapped.

One little trick I tried on one of the 25-2s is to widen the gap in the rear sight, slightly, for a better sight picture for those of us with "issues".

I guess I can't argue with your reasoning. Great looking guns by the way.

Fixed sights only here -- for CC and home defense use. No hunting or bullseye, else I'm sure optics would be nice.

As to personal preference, adjustable sights appear clunky to me. YMMV:D
