Our gub'mint won't allow them to be sold here, so why shouldn't they be sold to Iraq?

The Nazis are just supporting any enemy of the USA they can.

No problemo, we will use something bigger when we attack Iran as our politicians, media, and other opinion makers are getting us ready for.

Iran is a sovereign (SP?) nation that either has nuclear weapons (doubtfull IMHO) or will soon have nuclear weapons (almost certainly IMHO ). They have tanks, subs, F-14s with Phoenix missles (almost certainly not working due to lack of parts) anti aircraft missles, etc..... and your're worried about getting a .50 rifle.
Uhmm ... How much time have you been spending over the anti's sites reading the Bovine Scat about the .50s ?

The IEDs ( stacking 3 anti tank mines or using an SA3 war head is definetly improvisation )have taken out (destroyed tank killed some if not all of crew ) a Abrahms. They already have the russian heavy machine 12.7 (?) in large numbers. IIRC the US army has counter sniper teams already at work and can deploy ( or do, I do not know for sure ) electronic system to located snipers.

Actually since the rifes are serial numbered I'd be willing to guess that the politicians would love for them to be used against us in IRAQ because at least one would be captured then it would prove that the IRANIAN goverment was arming the insurgents against us in Iraq, not just individuals fighting for "religous beliefs".

Countries have sold guns to other countries for many years. This is nothing new.
Just look at the rifles that most of our guys are carrying.
 
If we want the ability to arm whoever we deem worthy of assistance, and the ability to shop for our arms wherever we feel the best deals can be found, unfortunatly that means accepting the fact that other countries will arm their own chosen causes and shop in the same stores.

Unless you're backing the UN's plan to disarm all civilians (which wouldnt work anyway seeing as they cant even disarm the dues paying governments) then theres nothing we can do about it on the dealership end.
The better approach would be to secure their border and confiscate anything dangerous before it can be deployed against our troops.

This story is a few years old, and had been discussed before. If you plan on posting something we usually recomend that you do a search before hand on some unique terms or words that you think would only show up in the context of that story. In this case I would have done a search on Steyr to see what comes up.
 
The 50 BMG round is a billion years old (well not quite but old)

It's not some magic wonder weapon that was secretly created yesterday that that article implies
